MARVEL’s Avengers Revealed!
This is a big one! They talked a lot about this game during the tail end of the conference! It’s releasing next year on May 15th, 2020, with an Early Access Beta on the PS4. Here are some bullet points that I noted during the presentation!
- Single player and co-op
- Crystal Dynamic’s interpretation of the characters
- Helicarrier outfitted with a strange new experimental energy source. Someone tries to steal the source, the
helicarrier causes a disaster, and theA vengers are outlawed and disband. - The Avengers then come back together when
a danger looms. You can play as Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Thorand Black Widow - This is an original story
- Delivers a narrative over multiple years with new content released on a regular basis
- Teams up to 4 players online
- Customization of heroes
- Every new hero and region will be delivered at no additional cost
- They promise not to introduce
pay to win scenarios or loot boxes - Unique benefits to be revealed in the future for PS users
The game also features an All Star Cast!
- Troy Baker – Bruce Banner
- Jeff Shine – Captain America
- Travis Willingham -- Thor
- Laura Bailey – Black Widow
- Nolan North – Tony Stark
I know Travis and Laura mostly from Critical Role (though I know they’ve done so much more), and I was excited to see them here! I also know Nolan North from voicing your Ghost in Destiny, and sometimes voicing Deadpool. I don’t really know the others, but it’s still super cool! This game is looking pretty awesome!!
And that concludes the Square-Enix E3 conference! What did you think?
______________________________________________________________________________
Come back to this page on Monday, June 10th at 7:00 PM MT/9:00 PM ET for up to the minute news of Square-Enix E3 2019!
We will surely be talking about Marvel’s Avengers, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers, and Dying Light 2. We also might get updates of Babylon’s Fall, Outriders, and other surprises!
Currently, two games are rumored to be in the works, both are from one of Square-Enix’s longest running IP’s, Final Fantasy. One of these games is being developed on the Luminous engine and is based on the tech demo, called ‘Agni’s Prophecy.’ You can check out the original video below.
The second is about Final Fantasy XIV. Ever since the game launched on PC and PS3 back in 2013, Xbox players have always wanted to travel across Eorzea. There have been many talks about this issue and one of the primary reasons why, is that back in 2013, Microsoft did not allow any game on Xbox 360 to share servers with PC or PS3.
Today’s cross-play/cross-save movement that Microsoft is doing could very well let players travel across Eorzea! This would be with the release of the next expansion, called Shadowbringers.
Now, not to leave Final Fantasy Nintendo fans out, there is also talks about bringing the game over to Switch, albeit in a cloud-based format. Naoki Yoshida (AKA Yoshi-P), the game’s director, has mentioned serval times that he would love to see the game on the Switch and Xbox, but more importantly, he would prefer it on the Switch. Speaking with VGR around this time last year, he had this to say,
While we know that discussions are already happening about other platforms, I wanted to know if there was any update that Yoshida could give us. He noted that they wish to “as many to play as possible.” Discussions are still “ongoing” with all three publishers – Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo – to see if the game can come to Xbox One and Switch with cross-play with the PC and PS4 versions. Yoshida noted he “hopes to announce something as soon as we can.”
Naoki Yoshida, Director, Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn
There have also been some exciting murmurs recently about XIV within the past few months in regards to Shadowbringers, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
There is really no telling what Square Enix has in store for us, besides we already know about. Be sure to come back here, and we will be updating the site as news comes in from Square Enix E3 2019!
