PlayStation’s State of Play – Episode 3
This episode of State of a play was pretty good! It showed off a few new games and new trailers for previously announced titles. We even got a release date for much anticipated The Last Of Us: Part II – February 21, 2020!
But the first trailer they showed is for a new game coming in 2020, called Humanity.
Created by Enhance and Tha. Ltd, this game looks very surreal, not that I mind that, this trailer just didn’t show what you as a player will actually be doing, so I’m kinda unsure how to feel about it yet. The trailer was super weird, there are thousands and thousands of people moving about on screen and if I had a guess at gameplay, it seems like you will be moving them in strange ways. The trailer also showed two opposing mobs of people colliding while brandishing weapons, so I guess there will also be fighting in this game as well. Humanity is coming in 2020, for the PS4 and PS VR.
The next video is a story trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which will be available soon, on October 25, 2019.
The PS4 will be the first to have a Special Ops Survival Mode!
Wattam is a game from the creators of Katamari Damacy! It looks just as whacky and whimsical as it’s predecessor! It’s vibrant, cute, and it seems that you go around finding new friends and reconnecting with the people of each world. There’s a nose character that can smell flowers, who are also characters. There’s also a toilet character who can put poo characters in their heads and flush. There are also more mundane characters such as blocks or circles who have little bowler hats. It also looks like you can blow up yourself and your new friends (in a non-deadly, fun way) with small dice-looking bombs hidden under your hat!
Wattam releases in December 2019!
Arise: A Simple Story doesn’t have a release date or anything yet, but this announcement trailer has me intrigued!
This game has some really solid, chunky (as in kinda blocky? I dunno, everything just looks so SOLID and nice) graphics that I find very aesthetically pleasing, and the game itself looks like a spiritual journey through the afterlife. Kinda like Journey, but with Vikings? I loved all the visuals this trailer had to offer, especially the area with the giant plants and bugs; I can’t wait to play it!
Rockstar Games L.A. Noire is getting the PS VR Treatment! L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files is a game of seven self-contained cases from the original game, and it looks pretty neat!
L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files is available today!
A montage of PS VR games coming soon were shown next, including:
- Gorn – Winter 2019
- Espire: 1 VR Operative – September 2019
- Stardust Odyssey – Winter 2019
- After The Fall – 2020
- Space Channel 5 VR Kinda Funky News Flash! – Autumn 2019
Check out the trailer to see these games in action!
The MediEvil remake is coming soon, and there’s a demo out today on the PlayStation store! Play this demon to claim Dan’s helmet to use in the full game! The MediEvil: Short-Lived demo will only be available until October 6th, so make sure to download and play it soon!
As someone who’s never played this game before, it looks great! From what they showed of the demo in the trailer, the graphics look amazing, and the gameplay fun! I love that you can take your arm off and use it as a weapon!
Sid Meier’s Civilization VI is finally coming to the PS4 on November 22, 2019! This includes the Rise & Fall and Gathering Storm Expansions, though they will be sold separately as a bundle.
Also exclusive to the PS4: Free Nubia + Khmer and Indonesia Civ & Scenario Packs!
Death Stranding PlayStation 4 Limited Edition Announced!
This will launch on the same day as the game (November 8, 2019), so get your wallets ready!
Afterparty is a game in which you play as two best friends trying to escape Hell by playing a drinking game with Satan. Well, you have to get through Hells’ other monarchs first. You can unlock new personas with 30 devilish drinks, play mini games, and more! The game releases on October 29, 2019.
Afterparty looks super fun and I love the art style, especially with the dark colors and neon lights! The humor in this game also seems like great fun!
October’s PS Plus lineup is pretty solid with The Last Of Us Remastered and MLB The Show 19. I’m definitely gonna grab The Last of Us Remastered since I haven’t even played that game yet, and now that we know the release date of Part II, I gotta catch up!
Last but definitely not least, they showed off a new trailer for The Last Of Us: Part II! As I had said earlier, they also announced the release date: February 21, 2020! This game looks beautiful and tragic.
